GOALS
To support GRO’s mission of spreading the Gospel through digital outreach, I defined three key design goals to guide the redesign, including

Improve Data Visualization
Develop intuitive and impactful visual elements that make statistical data more engaging and easier to understand
Enhance Navigation and User Flow
Provide intuitive pathways for users to access relevant information quickly
Modernize and Simplify the Interface
Create a clean, professional, and consistent interface aligned with GRO’s missions
MAJOR DESIGN CHANGES
01. Impact Hover Hotspots: Real-Time Data Made Simple
Solution: → Interactive hotspots that display real-time data. When users hover over a region, a tooltip breaks down the numbers for each metric.
Interactive Impact Map
Displays live, color-coded data across continents, highlighting visits, radio listeners, and salvations at a glance.
Engaging Visual Storytelling
Hover-activated hotspots reveal real-time regional activity, offering donors and new visitors an intuitive, mission-driven experience.
Each pulsating hotspot reflects the dominant impact in that region

→ South America glows orange for salvations, disciples, and content views; South Asia glows blue for listeners; and Sub-Saharan Africa glows orange for salvations and disciples.
02. Trend Analysis: Visualizing Impact Over Time
Solution: → A line graph that tracks key metrics over time, helping users understand trends and long-term impact.

Breaks down complex outreach data into clear, filterable views by year, region, or metric for easier understanding.
Personalized Exploration
Saves users’ last-viewed state to support return visits and foster deeper engagement with GRO’s ongoing impact.

→ Creates better visual balance with the overall layout by placing the arrow to the right of the percentage
03. Personalized Giving: Seamless & Targeted Donations
Solution: → A streamlined donation process with the ability to personalize contributions to a chosen region.

Lets users donate to areas they care about and view real-time impact metrics for a more personal connection.

Simplifies the process and includes post-donation feedback to reinforce the purpose and projected impact of each gift.

Showcases listener stories by region or theme, with rotating highlights on the homepage for passive discovery.

Puts a human face to the data, reminding users that each number represents a real life transformed.

Beyond my project scope, I would add extra feature to elevate the dashboard interfaces, making it a more versatile and comprehensive, including:

Things I've learned:
Exploring beyond my limit
As this was my first internship experience, it was an amazing journey where I learned a lot through this project. I kept exploring beyond my limits by trying various unfamiliar prototyping techniques combined with numerous design iterations, which enhanced my perseverance and made me enjoy the design process until I reached the final design
Communication is key
I also learned how to communicate with my design lead, from brainstorming to discussing struggles in solving design problems. I realized that an internship is a place for me to learn, which makes me grateful to be surrounded by supportive coworkers who are willing to help me grow.
